Analysis and functional characteristics of dihydropyridine-sensitive and -insensitive calcium channel proteins.

چکیده
The understanding of the molecular properties and structure-function relations of ion channels has advanced tremendously during the past few years. In this review I will try to summarize briefly the current advances in the field of calcium channel proteins and outline the problems facing researchers at present. I will concentrate exclusively on uertebrate voltage-dependent Ca*+ channels, because much less is known about the invertebrate Ca2+ channels and about receptor-operated Ca2+ channels. Recent reviews may be consulted for more detailed information on molecular properties of ion channels in general (e.g. Refs. 1-4) and of Ca2+ channels in particular [l, S-1.5].

The role of calcium channel blockers in wound healing
Wound healing is a natural response to restore the injured tissue to normal. Wound healing is also complicated process involving different cellular, molecular and biochemical mechanisms and various types of cytokines and growth factors. Calcium channel blockers belong to cardiovascular medicine and administrated to treatment of hypertension, angina and cardiac arrhythmia because of vasodilatory...
متن کاملResolution and pharmacological analysis of the voltage-dependent calcium channels of Drosophila larval muscles.
Voltage-dependent calcium channels play a role in many cellular phenomena. Very little is known about Ca2+ channels in Drosophila, especially those in muscles. Existing literature on neuronal Ca2+ channels of Drosophila suggests that their pharmacology may be distinct from that of vertebrate Ca2+ channels. This raises questions on the pharmacology and diversity of Ca2+ channels in Drosophila mu...
متن کاملSynthesis and Effects of Novel Dihydropyridines as Dual Calcium Channel Blocker and Angiotensin Antagonist on Isolated Rat Aorta
Objective(s) Four novel losartan analogues 5a-d were synthesized by connecting a dihydropyridine nucleus to imidazole ring. The effects of 5a and 5b on angiotensin receptors (AT') and L-type calcium channels were investigated on isolated rat aorta. Materials and Methods Aortic rings were pre-contracted with 1 pM Angiotensin II or 80 mM KCl and relaxant effects of losartan, nifedipine, 5a and...
متن کاملDihydropyridine binding and Ca(2+)-channel characterization in clonal calcitonin-secreting cells.
1,4-Dihydropyridine-sensitive voltage-dependent Ca2+ channels play a crucial role in the extracellular Ca(2+)-sensing of calcitonin-secreting parafollicular cells of the thyroid (C-cells). To characterize the Ca2+ channels in C-cells, we studied 1,4-dihydropyridine binding and performed electrophysiological experiments with Ca(2+)-sensitive C-cells (rat C-cell line rMTC 44-2) in comparison with...
متن کاملSynthesis and Biological Evaluation of New Tricyclic Dihydropyridine Based Derivatives on Potassium Channels
The present study reports a microwave-assisted method for the synthesis of twelve novel tricyclic 1,4-dihydropyridine derivatives in which dimethyl-substituted cyclohexane and / or tetrahydrothiophene rings are fused to the DHP ring. The structures of the compounds were confirmed by spectral methods and elemental analysis. The potassium channel opening effects of the compounds were determined o...
